The first thing about setting a goal for yourself that you must realize is that you’ve got to do it in a way that is measurable. That is, at such and such time time is what I want to achieve… and then set up a step by step plan that goes about achieving those ends. Therefore, you must get specific and into the details of what you are trying to accomplish. That means you must write them down and refer back to them regularly… preferably on a daily basis. That way as time goes on and you begin to make progress you can constantly make little tweaks here and there on things that you did not anticipate.
I’m constantly doing this myself in my effort to increase my business success. Since that is my main focus of all my written goals that is what I’m focused on here. Of course there or other aspects in life to have goals about as well, and some of mine are actually maintained by other people. For example, I went to the dentist today to have a permanent crown put on. This is after a long series of dental visits that have gone on for over two years now and will continue on as I go through their list of objectives planned out for me. This is what I mean by setting up a step by step plan in order to achieve your ultimate objective.
In the Internet Marketing business this may prove to be a daunting and challenging task. Because unless you’ve already achieved a measure of success with it, it’s hard to figure out on your own exactly what to do let alone set up a step by step plan working backwards from your original objective. This can lead to a situation of being scattered about all over the board without achieving any real results. Doing to many ongoing tasks at the same time. If you are in this situation I suggest it’s time to pull back and re-examine what it is you are trying to accomplish. I’m constantly doing these things myself and devote at least a half an hour a day every day to this task. Organizing yourself by using a day planner and following a proven business plan that someone else has already created will put you miles ahead of the pack.
I use a day planner myself in this manner. In the morning I open it up and look at the important things and do those things first. In the evening, I’ll look back at my “to do” list and see what I did, what I didn’t do and figure out what I need to do the next day. I like to call it Master Planning. It’s actually much more detailed than what I’ve outlined here but I think you get the idea. One of my objectives is to create a product about this subject and give it away to my list subscribers.
For now I’ll leave you with this; create a goal for yourself, something you want to accomplish. Write it down then create some sort of “to do” list that will help you achieve those ends; look at it every day with the intention of taking action on them and in a one week time period see what you have accomplished. Did you make headway or not? Evaluate yourself and most of all be honest with yourself. With effort I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with your results.

Some have estimated that as many as 95% of those who start an online business will fail and end up deeper in debt. I’m not sure where I read that exactly… but who cares. I believe it’s probably true. I have been determined not to fall in this category and have finally figured out what the main cause of this problem is. But it took a whole lot of testing and learning about so many different aspects of the affiliate marketing business to get to where I am now. And one of the best road maps that I’ve discovered to accomplish my goals as an Internet Marketer was created by Jimmy D Brown.
What makes Jimmy D’s program really good is that it is presented in small manageable bite size chunks on a weekly basis. It’s a no non-sense direct to the point system that teaches exactly what you need to do in order to create a successful online business that simply puts cash in your pocket. All you have to do is follow his step by step guide and at the end of each lesson he gives you clear cut homework assignment with action steps you must take in before you carry on to the next lesson. And the great thing is that each week’s lesson only takes a couple hours to read through and complete. By doing the small incremental steps of each lesson you will soon see things slowly but surely taking shape. What I mean is after about a month you will have things up and running enough to begin marketing your products and making money. All these little baby steps eventually do add up to money in the bank if all you do is stick with it and carry out each weeks lesson plan.
If you are truly determined to make changes in your life for the better and have the desire to succeed in online marketing in some fashion or another, then you owe it to yourself to check out Jimmy D Browns’ business plan.
